Hi there...I have the Heller kit of Le Superbe. This will be my first real foray into the age of sail!. I understand that the kits recommendations regarding rigging are less than accurate. Does anyone know where I can obtain these plans for a somewhat reasonable price? I found a site carrying them, but they want $85.00 for them, and I simply cant afford that. Is it possible to " cheat" using a book showing a similar yet generic rigging sequence?...any advice would be very much appreciated...

Hi Jim!

I'll look into my Le Superbe instructions and see what the hub-bub's about. Do you have a Heller 1:100 Victory? Those instructions are probably quite accurate.

Thanks Karl. I did a search on the net on all the forum postings regarding the kit, and that was the only downside to the kit, according to what I read. I looked into the 1:100 HMS Victory, but the price was too steep for me for several reasons..

I'll send you one of my Victory instruction booklets (I have a few). Please send me your postal address via PM.

Might be a bit of difference between a French 3rd rater and an English 1st rater!

you could be right, Kym, but this will give me a place to start, and show me some basics...I dont need absolute historical accuracy, since Im doing this just for my own fun, but I want it to look convincing enough..

I have a big set of rigging plans for that exact ship (from one of my unfinished large scale wooden kits), if you like I can post them to you and when your finished, send them back.
