Recieved a mail from the Sockelshop in Germany that they are mailing my order of the USS Independence to me today. I'll get some snaps up as soon as it arrives.
cheers,
Julian

You lucky dog! I'm coveting that kit. Unfortunately, I have so many kits I covet and only so much time to build. Alas, real life keeps intruding and She Who Must Be Obeyed will not tolerate being a "modeling widow". I haven't figured out how to cram enough wakeful hours into any 24 hour period to build as much as I'd like, deal with real life and keep She Who Must Be Obeyed happy - which is a predicate to getting any time at the workbench at all. Divorce seems a bit extreme and besides, she'd probably get my stash in the property settlement. Can't give up the real world or no more money to fund the stash, let alone all the PE, etc., the stash needs to be up to par. Dilemmas, dilemmas. What to do?

I know the problem Robert, I am still trying to figure out how to smuggle a Trumpie 1/200th Arizona into the house after the Independence has arrived. Sheer madness on my part as my attic is still filled with my stash....................
Still, all forms of sheer lust can be fun

I'm on the queue from Freetime as well, but they'll probably go by alphabetical order!

Well, I didn't really have a snowball's chance in the Sahara to smuggle the box past mrs. Gremlin56:

Even I was intimidated by the size of this thing A closer inspection and the removal of a lot of bubble wrap and newspaper showed that things were still big but not exactly huge, but in any case very carefully packed:

A quick inspection shows that the Indepenence has arrived damage free, crispy new and with a Dragon style well packed box. I'll give you the same quick peek I took on arriving home from work. A closer inspection will be undertaken this weekend:

A very big thanks to Frank Brechmann at Der Sockelshop in Germany for the great service and excellent dispatch, ( kit arrived yesterday in Germany and was delivered today in Holland). The model looks like a winner with beatifull moulding and fine detailing.
cheers,
Julian
