I was looking through the pics again looking one for rigging and two the MG's .I noticed that in all the pics you never see a MG?Then I come up on a pic of the dead from the Battle of River Plate and then there is 2 MGs on the upper deck in front of the rear turret by the ladders not were Academy has them. The thing is that this is the only time I saw them present?I wonder if these guys were made removable and pulled and put into place??any answers out there.

What you are looking at are single 20mm, The Graf Spee carried a number, either 12 or 14 I believe at the time of River Plate. These mounts were fixed, Are you refering to the Mounts just in from of the break down to the quarterdeck and the Torpedoe tubes? These appear to have been there since the ship was built (She was originally fitted with 8 mounts).
Hope that helps

That's them. I have 8 mounts now it just seemed strange as I looked through the pics they are there hidden or missing.I was curious if the they would be pulled down during times when conflict was minimum?Thks for the reply Simon Cheers
