does anyone know if there is a model kit of a " coontz" class destroyer in any scale. I have a friend that used to serve on one

I think you'll find the ideal fix for your query, here, mate!

But you're going to have to check availability...

Midship Models has an offering too, but the Niko would be my choice if you can find one.
