Jeremy sorry for the late sign up but have been off-line for three weeks due to computer problems. I,ve had to borrow my sons laptop to get on while he is home for the weekend from Uni. Should be back to normal by end of next week hopefully.

Q- very nice job on your C46, love the markings!
Mark – keep at it! I had a few of those, but gives you a sense of completion when you finally finish them…. Either on your bench or against the wall!
I have been doing some work on my Revell P51Ds, will post some pics next week.

James, I believe you have posted in the wrong forum. Sounds like you were responding to an Aeroscale campaign?

This is the beast. The Kit looks a lot cruder at first viewing than it actually is, there are some nice touches, the uneven deckplates for one, which will great rusted and dirty.
I have to get into some research on this yet, but this is the starting point.

Must admit I am tempted to replace the T34 turret with one from a decent plastic kit, but we will see.

Simon,
That is a rather interesting kit. I like that two stands that come with it.
Replacing the turret with plastic could then lead to adding some crew members.

Hi Jim,
Adding some crew was also on my mind, to give it a sense of scale.
Although that will depend on what my research pull's up (if anything much on these beasts). It has occoured to me If I do decide to have a turret with an open hatch, that barbette is going to have to replaced with something hollow & some detail.....
We will see closer to the start date.

Hello Simon,
What would you say how far you are on that kit? 10% to 15% or so?
The campaign does not start till June and it is suppose to be new not started kits.
If you only have about the above percentage and do not do anything else except but items for it and do research, I guess it is OK with me.
Does anyone object to Simon using this kit for the campaign? I will set a 3 day time-limit for a yes/no vote.
Cheers,
Bruce

I understand Simon hasn't started it, yet!
The pics clearly show the dry assembly out of the bags, with no parts clean up etc.
So it should be OK, anyway.

Hi Bruce,
Guido is correct, It is just dry fitting, pour point on the stern hasn't been cleaned up, everything is tucked back in box awaiting start date, as it is a bit of an oddity thought I would post some pics now, just to spark a bit of interest.

Hello Simon,
My mistake.
They have me doing PT for 3 hours at a time, 4 times a day and I get a little punch drunk after a while.
What I need is a good shot of 100 year old scotch right now.
I think that your build is going to be very interesting.
I think I have decided on mine.
I found out that a British Battleship was loaned to the Soviet Union in 1943 or 1944 and then returned in 1946 or 1947. I think that the HMS Warspite with the Soviet Union Flag flying would look interesting along the ice. What do all of you think?
Cheers,
Bruce

Simon, pick up a Dragon 1/72 T-34 kit. They are quite nice kits OOB, just check which model turret you are looking for as Dragon makes quite a variety of T-34's.
Bruce: It's an easy oversight. I almost thought he started too when I first glanced at the photos.
I think your choice sounds stellar, will you actually model the ice for a display?

Hi Bruce,
No Worries.
The ship you are looking for is HMS Royal Sovereign. She transfered to the Soviet navy 30th may 1944 was renamed Arkhangelsk, and came back to the RN in February 1949 and was promptly scrapped. There is the old Frog 1/500th Job (You can fidn around in Novo or Eastern express boxings still from time to time) , and a couple of 1/700th resins from WSW (I think that one is Royal Oak) and HP Models. You will have to watch the Hull bulges as they did vary from ship to ship.
Good luck, should be a cracking build
Thanks Jeremy, i will check it out, is definietly a 76mm, and looks llike an earlyish job, with the large single forward opening hatch.

Hello Simon,
Thanks for the right ship
Being in Hospital has cut me off from all of my books and the 2 retired Librarians have only scanned in 1% of my books so far(after 5 years) so I guessed on the name.
Thanks again,
Cheers,
Bruce

This is the kit you want then, T-34/76 Mod. 1940. The tracks are pure rubbish, so this would be a great use of the kit (the rest of the kit is great).

I've got about 5 or 6 kits, but haven't made a choice, yet.
As it looks now, I'll probably make one of the cold war classics from Combrig.
Cheers,
Guido
