Warren, based on my research the previous post is correct. I'm hoping to get back on North Carolina after the Thanksgiving holiday. Right now I'm working on two builds I thought would be less intensive during the summer months, both old Revell kits, P.T. 109 with the PE set the old 1/249 U.S.S. Buckley, also with PE. Both turned out to be more work than I expected, with the 109 requiring a ton of sanding to get the old inaccurate modeling (especially the deck planking) off, and scratch building (not my best talent) the weapons on the Buckley, which a pure crap. Other than that, Buckley is a pretty nice little kit with some surprisingly good molded on bulkhead details for its time.

I'm looking forward to seeing more pics of your work on Showboat. The paint work looks great so far.

Thanks Cap'n Melvin. If my build is half as good as your stuff I will be a happy camper.

Hopefully will get some done today.

OK. A quick update. I have almost finished one side of the bow. Just need to add a few (hundred) 20mm canon.. and paint a few pieces of PE still..

Flash has made the blue of the deck appear much lighter than it is.. oh well..
I went to start building the PE 20mms from Eduard but I think they look too flat for my liking. So I came up with a hybrid using the Eduard splinter shield and the Trumpeter canon.

It will look heaps better with some paint.. I hope!!
And this turned up in the post the other day..

Wooden deck, PE all in the box, and.. a jigsaw of the cover painting!!
What will they think of next??
'Til next time...
