Hi all
I did a small venture to the dark side, because I've always wanted to build a submarine. Normally I build german panzers, but I think this project came out quite well. I have to thank Jan (MrMox), for technical advice and all my newbe questions. Well, feel free to comment on the build. Best regards
Jacob

Hello Jacob, A very nice job indeed. I like the weathering and the overall finish, really nice. Looking at how small the real boat was, I think if I was a German sailor, I would have said," You've got to be kidding!", if I was asked to go to war in one. Al

Thank you all for those kind words. And yes, there's another u-boat heading this way. This time it's a type IX in I think 1:125? from Fujimi. A really nasty piece of a modelkit, but hey, it's a ship, right On my workbench is also a submarine chaser from Glencoe in 1:74 and teh SMS Emden in 1:350 from Revell. These are Not arriving soon.

Great work, Jacob! The subtle weathering is perfectly done! I think some black and white photos with dockyard or seascape backgrounds would look amazingly realistic.
I'm very glad you "crossed over" to the Dark Side and I'm happy to hear you'll be posting more builds here. I'd like to add to Jim's request for a Feature article.
Great job!

PS
You call yourself a "Newbie"?? I don't think so!! How long have you been building and weathering Panzers?!? You carried your techniques over quite well!
