I have the 1/350 Tamiya Mikuma kit and was wondering if the LionRoar Mogami 1942 upgrade set would work on the Mikuma since this was before the Mogami was refitted as a carrier. I noticed some masts on top of the main turrets on the Mogami. Are there other differences that would make the LR set wrong to use?
Thanks in advance,
Greg

Hi Greg!
I recommend you check a library for a copy of Japanese Cruisers of the Pacific War by LaCroix, Wells, and Wells. It's a large and expensive book now, so a public or university library search should turn up a copy you can use.
The book has exhaustive information on all the Japanese cruisers, including how each ship changed over the course of the war.
Good luck!

My library does not have it and I looked on Amazon and they want $200+ for the book.
Does anyone have the book where they could check for me or if you know any other way to find out?

Hi Greg!
One more recourse you can try is checking the libraries of colleges and universities in your area. I've found that to be a valuable (and cheap) alternative.

Hi Greg,
Sometimes you can find good reference books cheaper on bookfinder.com
A search for Japanese Cruisers might turn up a cheaper option there.

Thanks for the ideas guys. I will give them a try as I am still looking for that book or others that would show the differences between the Mikuma and Mogami in 1942.
