My Vosper is almost finnished so here comes a pt-boat.
I started this one at the same time as the Vosper and thought that i could do both at the same time, that didn't workout quite like i planned.

The radar dome has some of it's dimensions changed, looks better now.(This is still the old one)

Blast depht charges

Ammo racks on the Bofor

Did some detailing on the rear turret screen.

cheers, TDK

Hello Tom, You're off to a fine start. I like the lacing on the turret spray screen. Did you turn the radome yourself? I always wondered why no aftermarket companies ever offered one. Al

Thanks,
Also for getting me in touch with Alyce from pt-boat museum&archives.
Backdating this one is not so much building as deleting.
A lot of the fitting on the later model doesn't seem to be on the earlier ones.

But i could do some work on the bridge.

Made 2 more read lockers and made the engineroom hatch smaller.

And the reviced radardome.

Tom, I'm anxious to see your updates on this build. I have the 596 on my work bench, with the basic Green No. 2 on the hull, chart house and day room as well as the vents, etc, over the engine room. The deck houses have been attache to the deck, but deck and hull not yet mated. Frankly, I'm debating my camo scheme. I have the Gator's mask for the camo scheme, but I've never tried anything like that before and to be honest, I'm a bit intimidated by it. I've thought about using the Gator's mask on the hull, then attempting to free hand the camo on the attached chart house, day room, etc.. I'm curious to see how you handle it and what camo scheme you elect to use.

BTW, great looking job so far.

Hi Tom,

Grand progress. I like the earlier boats better, they have very smooth clean lines (uncluttered if you like) and I've had this kit since it came out. Not yet at the stage to back date it though so it's still in the box.

Look forward to developments, there have been some outstanding bulds I've seen, not that the pressure is on

Look forward to developments.

Hi Bob,
I had to look up the Gator stuff, because i haven't seen it over here.
Looks good, and if i read the manual correctly shoudn't be to difficult to work with.
Just keep track of the colours you want ,and where you put them.
Maybe you could (colour)mark the different pieces with a fineliner marker pen.
I have used 1" wide lowtac tape to do the front of my Vosper hull, drawn the shape and cut it out.
The Pt will be easier, there cammo where complete surfaces.Thayer blue deck ,grey superstructure, darker hull i think.

Yeah Alan, i've seen some looking awesome. But i just see what i'll make off it.

Yes Al, i did turn it myself and the Garth made a remark that made me chance it a bit.
maybe U-models could be persuaded to do the dome and mast.
It will make life easier for alot of builders me thinks.
And perhapes Italeri will do a mid production one as wel,now they are doing the 109.
The aftermarket stuff for the S-boat is much more i think like always the axis get the better deal .

So here is a small update on the PT,

Made a travellock for the oerlikon.

And did some detailing on the "bridge"
Had to change the depresionrail of the front .50.
Working on the travellock for the Bofors, but i haven't been able to find a good photo of it.Anybody who can point me in the right direction?

So here is a small update.
I changed the radar box to the early type.
Made an extra piece of wall at the steering stand and detailed the readrack for the Bofor.
And made a horn.
