I've already proposed this campaign on Armorama and seem to be getting a good turn out thus far so I would like to extend the campaign here to Model Shipwrights as well.
This build would require TWO models, a predecessor and its successor. Any ear, nationality, and scale (though it seems better if both kits are the same scale). This extends to any type of ship, to the biggest battleship to a PT-boat or submarine, if it floats, it's game.
Unlike the Armorama campaign, your successor and predecessor would be dictated by the ships class; USN Seawolf class was the successor to the USN Los Angeles class. In rare cases, like CV8 and CV 12, both USS Hornet, this would NOT pass for the successor/predecessor requirement.
Here is a link to the Armorama thread, I'm also always open for a PM if needed.

Hmm...
Being the only one to reply in almost a week makes me think this will be a dead end road, but...
I' de interested

And at the cost of being repetitive for some (can't build enough subs!!) my entry could/would be (in no specific order):
- A Sturgeon class SSN replaced by a LA class SSN.
- A L.A. Class followed by a Virginia class SSN. To nit-pick the "intended" replacement was the Seawolf...as you wrote above.
- A Victor III SSN replaced by an Akula II
- An Akula II replaced by a Yasen
- More of a long shot (especially to be accomplished in 6-8 months): a Delta IV replaced by a Typhoon (though they are indeed somewhat contemporary)
- Again a long shot (SSBN's are just huge and I still have to figure out where to paint them): a Typhoon replaced by a Borei
All of the above would be all in 1/350 scale.
- Last but not least, though not in the same scale, a French Le Redoutable SSBN (1/400) replaced by a Le Triomphant SSBN (1/350).
Alternatively, I could do them all if it gets to the 10 participants required

In any case, I hope this long post conveys the fact that I really like your idea!
Thanks,

Thanks Nicola. Yes, for some reason this campaign hasn't taken off as well as on Armorama, or Aeroscale for that matter. It's unfortunate but there's still plenty of time, was looking at a March 1st start so still plenty of time.
