I picked this kit up just about a week ago; I don't think I can recall a clear-deck option on any production kit- very cool to show the hanger and aircraft in various stages of storage, arming, etc. I haven't checked to see if the model can be built with the flight decks remaining interchangeable, I suppose another island can be patterned simply enough.

Some of Dragon's 1/700 Essex versions came with a clear hangar deck. Can't remember which ones, though.

The small "Predator-type" aircraft are Ohka rocket-propelled suicide bombs - a first in 1/700 scale, I think. Lots of hangar detail ... I hope they scale up this kit to 1/350.

Anybody got any pics of how to best accent a clear deck (i.e. paint the edges, arrestor wires, etc or leave it all bare)?
