OK now I'm reading the book Dog boats at war and a great book it is, now it mention E-boats, R-boats, M class minesweepers, F lighters etc but I'm a bit confused when it talks of the Elbing class destroyer and 'Mowes'.
example from the book:
...a few miles west of Le Harve, Bradford sighted an Elbing class destroyer followed by two 'Mowes', and it seemed they were stalking yet another ship to the north. When starshell was fired this turned out to be a British corvette escorting a convoy, and Bradford saw his chance while the enemy's attention was diverted and went in to attack. One torpedo hit on a 'Mowe' was seen (and confirmed later by intelligence reports).
By the way thats Lt Cdr D.G. Bradford RNR DSC+bar, DSO, SO of the 55th Flotilla in MTB 624
Now I believe the 'Mowe' was a torpedo boat (not MTB) of hull numbers TB1 - 6 but the books I have at hand don't shed any light on the Elbing class, any help please.

Elbing class torpedo boats (or perhaps destroyer escorts in other navies)
-named after the shipyard that built them, Schichau Elbing.
Some data here,

Thanks Andrew.
I've managed to get some books out of storage including my Conway's All the worlds fighting ships 1922 - 1946, in there it states that the 1935 and 1937 types were often erroneously referred to as 'Elbing' class due to T1-T4, T9 & T10 plus T13-T21 being built by Schichau at Elbing.
Mowe was a 1923 Type and until the launch of the 1934 Type destroyers was classified a destroyer.
