I have the Oerklion from White Ensign on the way.
My point before was that as Italeri already have the tooling for most of the weapons used on both British MTB/MGB as well as the US PT boats, they could do well selling them as sets, with out the unneeded donkeys, 15cwt trucks or having to canibalise an expensive kit just to get the weapons.
Thanks for the thought though.
Ian M
Ah I have just had a look and seen that it was the figures you were refering to and not the weapons. I do apologise.
Thank you.

Hi folks,
I think that a Naval Weapons set would be cool. A 20mm Oerlikon, (single and twin) Vickers K Guns and stands and Lewis Guns and stands, and as Al says the correct naval mount for the Breda. They have all the weapons already in various kits most would just need the correct naval mount.
Add in a selection of appropriate ammo lockers and you'd have a very useful set.
I would like to think they will do a RN crew, as they currently have 3 boats plus one on the way (X craft) that can be manned by the RN. The more crew choices the merrier.
Cheers
Al

Had the mad Idea to do 234 after she got her third rudder.
Having already mounted the two outer ones, it was a bit of a challenge but worked out all right. I think.

I know its not 100% the same but I'm not a scratch builder and I'm using the "it was added several years after so ...!" excuse.

Hello Ian, looks good from here. A coat of paint and you won't know the difference. I've found that things that seem glaringly obvious to me on one of my models, are hardly ever noticed by others. Keep it up, I'm looking forward to seeing more.

Thanks for the comments. I have gotten hold of a book, Allied torpedo boat, and saw a tiny drawing from Al Ross. My nice rudder is soooooo wrong!
So it has now been removed and a one a bit more like the one on the drawing (and as modeled by Coastal Craft Model's version of 234.

While at it I ran some wires up the mast, and made a new IFF whatchamacallit.

That key piece of information, or the photograph with the view needed, always seem to turn up after the fact. At least you caught it early in the build.

One thing I am having issues with: The Depth Charges- Would these be painted in the same colours as the rest of the boat; blue/grey/white or would they have been a single colour. If so, which colour?
Here is where I am at right now.

And that rather nice Oerklion from Accurate Armour.

Hello Ian, You can see in this photo that the depth charges are two-toned, same as the torpedo tubes. It might have varied from boat to boat.
Hope this helps, she's looking real good.

Hi ,
Just to make things more complicated the photo is of a Dutch crewed boat.
And on the day that prince Bernard was visiting.
So the boat would have looked like new.
During my build i also found photos of the DC in a very dark colour.
On mine a painted them semi matt black.
I don't think while on standby for patrol they would take the trouble of painting them in the boat colours when there was a big chance they where over the side a couple of hours later.
just my 2cents
Nice build btw ,will keep an eye out on this one.

Thanks Tom and Al.
We as per the norm there is always two sides to a coin, LOL.
Well I have four DC's and only two were fitted to this boat, so I will paint two with the same finish as the boat and the other two Black green, which I believe to be the "standard" colour of DC's...
Then I can see which look best on the boat :-)
