Hi there! I just built Bronco's 1/350 LPD-21 New York during Christmas holidays. The kit is built OOB but some aicraft are enhanced by adding PE from a KA Models set for the 1/350 Wasp Class LHD. The LAVs and HMMWVs in the LCACs are from GHQ. Enjoy the pictures!

Hi, Daniel,

Great work --- and fast, too!!

I like the build --- there's a lot going on...you've captured the business of a warship at work.

What colors did you base coat the ship with and were there any problems with the kit?

Thanks again, Daniel ---- keep up the great work!

With Regards and Aloha,

Hi guys, thanks for these nice comments!

The build was indeed easy and straightforward, as a modern "stealthy"ship has to be .

The paint I used is a mixture of Gunze white and grey no 308 (FS36375). After a first layer I used some type of template white square holes to spray kind of a "structure" using the same paint again.

It was indeed a quick build and also a test to prepare myself for the Wasp kit .

How is yours going, Julian?

Forgot to mention: deck paint is standard Gunze no 305.

Hello Daniel .... congratulations!! The New York ship is a ship with very straight lines nothing that they him look like the beautiful curves of the WWII .But we will have to get used to this new series of ugly ships .... good it is my opinion. You have a beautiful work in hands, the effect of painting for panels in the low hull is very, but very well!! And the runway is another fort .... Excellent !!
Regards Daniel

Hello Daniel! Thank you! Indeed the lines of these new generation ships are special... and I am looking forward to a 1/350th USS Zumwalt .

Hey Armando!

Thanks! It is an awesome, easy to assemble kit. When finished, it is about 23 inches or 60 centimeters long and 3.5 inches or 9 centimeters wide.

Cheers

Very nice build. I like all the action, it adds a lot of visual interest to the model. Makes me want to build one! Al

Thanks Al! The kit is wonderful and the GHQ vehicles fit perfectly into the scenery. I am thinking about building another one (as there is a new kit "San Diego" from Bronco, as well as detail parts from KA models), but I absolutely lack the space to have a second... So now I am building 1/2400 miniatures

Hi Daniel! Thank you for your prompt response! What about the height of the model w/stand?? The reason I ask is because a display case will be used when the model is completed.

Thanks again,
Armando

Armando, the built kit is about 8 inches or 20 centimeters in height. Do you construct your display case by yourself or do you buy one? I am still thinking about purchasing one for my 1/350 Wasp... Would be nice to display it in my office without having it collect dust...

Hello Daniel, and thank you! Yes, I'm going to buy a display case for it, as I'm not dexterous to construct one on my own.

The 1/350 Wasp is a beauty!!

Cheers,
Armando
