The Mayflower looks suspiciously like a Revell 70's re-pop. That in itself is not bad news if I remember correctly. The pirate ships are pure "Bubblegum",

I believe the Mayflower is exactly as you say. The smaller of the two pirate ships is intended for younger modelers. The large pirate ship looks like it may be a nice kit, and will be interesting to see how Zvezda's influence affects it, but I do agree that it appears incredibly generic to say the least. It would be nice to see some affordable kits of pirate ships that are based on as much historical reference as possible.
