Have just spotted this - no idea who the company is behind it. Anyone heard anything?

Well, since this is the boxart for the old Revell Ark Royal kit, it's either fake, or Trumpeter since they did the same thing with their recent announcement of the Indianapolis.

Thanks Jon,
thought the box art was familiar. Revell marketed the Ark in the 70's with that drawing if I remember correctly.

Erm, WHO CARES!! I JUST WANT IT!! Well after I find out how good it is anyway. I have been waiting for this kit my whole life. Just kidding...

It would also appear that Academy are also bringing out a 1/350 Indianapolis...

Its not Trumpeter as it is not in their 2013 catalogue I don't think. Any more guesses? Maybe it is Revell of Europe?

The model back then was rather c*** Warren,
70's are ancient history for models in general. Your party so buy it if it tickles your fancy but TamiGawa it is most certainly not

I was not saying I want the Ark in stupid 1/720 scale Mr Sallows. After my recent NJ experience I stay well clear of all old Revell kits forever.
I meant as a new release kit from Revell Europe.
I can't find anything anywhere news wise about it, not even on the BMM site.

They posted a little more info -

Not sure if they've been constrained by the manufacturers until further official announcements have been made at the latest round of hobby shows Nuremburg and Tokyo during the next couple of months.

Also, for UK folk, there's some bargains to be had.

Yes Dave, I had a look at buying a kit but their postage rates are far higher than anywhere else I buy from. I think it is called making up for cheap prices by gouging the mail costs.

But thanks for the info mate!

As a matter of interest, what would the postage costs be for dispatching the same kit(s) from Australia to the UK?

I was not picking on them specifically, but you tend to look askance as sites that charge high postage rates and they do not give you the option of surface or airmail. But again it is definitely not a problem with that site alone. It may just be their automatic system is rubbish. But I can;t see that my end.

Not knowing the size or weight it is a little difficult But I had a 1/350 USS Enterprise sent to me from Hong Kong for $34.
Postage cost on a Shokaku DX from China to here, $35.
A 1.5 - 2kg package from Australia to old Blighty is $41.
I get the same problem from sone places like Kagero who want 23 euro for one book, whereas I can get it from the USA for just $13.
Relish Models is far more reasonable and I buy my Revell 1/32 stuff from them.
Cheers mate

Hey Warren, whaddaya mean useless? I loved that bonus destroyer kit as a kid! As the only Allied destroyer in my waterline fleet, that little Tribal had to take on my entire Japanese DD force!

(The kit really was crap, though...)

My head is full of useless trivia rubbish mate! So the IJN won those battles, or did you twist the result in favour of the good guys?

1/720 bravery was no match for 1/700 Long Lance torpedoes...

Would have been rather "short lance" torpedoes in 1/700th Tim

I hope so Dave, but I have the feeling a 1/350 Ark Royal may weigh more than 2kg..

Here's hoping it doesn't!

Only reference I've seen is one which points to Merit rather than Trumpeter.

The latest Merit catalog has it listed. This catalog is somewhere out there on a Chinese modeling board.

Thanks again Dave! A link or the name of the site it was found on would still be helpful. I put in a fairly extensive look for the catalog and came up short. Even if it's a tease like the Trumpy version, there's hope knowing they are at least pondering it!

are we really going to go through all this again with this company
if you want order from them don't get the item try claiming your money back blah blah blah

or wait until they come out from trumpeter and order from a trusted company

your choice I know what I would do
