One of the problems with ship modeling is that a ship can change her appearance (paint job, armament, equipment, etc.) several times in the same year resulting in some research and detective work for an accurate model for any given time. I wish to model the USS Buckley of May '44 during her encounter with U66, using Trumpeter's USS England. After several hours of Googleing contradictory data I have concluded that during that action, Buckley was armed with 3 3in, 10 20mm, 1 twin 40mm, and the triple torps, and was painted in Measure 22. Some sources claim Buckley was in Measure 33/3D that year, but pics of her in drydock with damaged bow from ramming U66 clearly suggest Ms. 22. Can anyone with definite knowledge confirm this. I am ready to start painting!
