I am thinking about starting my Tirpitz, after my Tiger tank. So I have to ask, did she see any action in the arctic?
I would like to do a little diorama with her, in the icy cold water.

Chip, it depends on your definition of "action." The Tirpitz was stationed in Norway for a good while where she (He) acted as a small fleet in being threatening allied convoys. While up there the ship was attacked several times by British aircraft and a Russian sub. AFAIK the only time Tirpitz ever fired at a surface target was against some weather station, not another ship.
You should be able to get some info on both this question, and your Yamato one, at www.warships1.com. It's a great source of information on ships.
