Looking on the net here, and wondering if Heller ships ar any good. I would like to know about the Prinz Eugen and Bismarck.

Should I waste my time? I have a Heller plane, and that looks really good, just wondering if it carries over for their ships.

Chip, the problem with Heller is the age of the moulds, their armor kits are long in the tooth so unfortunately, is virtually all of their catalogue. The Heller Bismarck, is I think (if i'm wrong,please correct me) is the reboxed Airfix one. Heller and Airfix amalgamated and shared lists with some of the others products coming out under the other's label. They certainly did some original stuff (the carrier Foch) for example....Jim

Hello Chip,
I have built all of the Heller 1/400 WW-2 era Warships. And I am about to start building them all over again since I am now more experianced and use PE. These are good kits, not quite on par as the Tamiya 1/350 kits, but build up in a fine model! And another plus is they have ship kits that no other manufacture has out in a large scale injected plastic kit.
I would encourage you to give them a try, specialy there Prinz Eugen!

Good choice Chip, the Heller Graf Spee is the most detailed and best fitting out of all the Heller kits! I have all three of the pocket Battleships in my stash and the Graf spee will be the first one I build. Just as soon as I get finished with the Tamiya 1/350 Yamoto.

I received the Prinz Eugen like present when I was young (about 12yrs), but I can affirm that it was a good model. Today I still have a turret (the only one piece I safe) and I found it quite good, like the detail of the ship that I can remember.
However consider how many years this kit has.
