Greetings all MSW crew out there in cyber-space.
As a quick relaxation build I decided to do Dragon's 1/350 USS Laffey. The Laffey was sunk in 1942 during the Solomon's campaign in the South Pacific. I am not sure how they did it but they managed to sneek up on a Japanese fleet with at least one battleship and they all seemed to pick on the poor little Laffey.
Anyway, here are some pictures of the totally OOB model:

Well actually it is not totally OOB because it didn't come with paint etc..
No extra PE was used and I used Lifecolor paints for the blues and a tin of Norfolk Anti-Fouling red from White Ensign. Both the Lifecolor and the White Ensign paints cover very well and this ship was almost totally brush painted.
Next up is the Trumpeter Ticonderoga with a BigEd PE set and a Pontos blue wood flight deck that I got while it is on special at HLJ at the moment. I have been looking for months for one of these decks at the right price and finally found one. I will do what I can with the rest of the ship until the deck gets here. I also have one of Kenny's Gator-Masks to try for the camo scheme. Should be interesting..
Cheers all
Warren

Thanks Todd.
I have the Eduard BigEd set for her and a Pontos wooden deck on its way because you can't beat the look of real wood planks even when they are stained deck blue. I also have a Gator Mask for the camo scheme that will be interesting to test.
