I read an article that discusses putting CA into hypodermic syringes. The upshot was that it was very useful but that if the plunger is rubber it will eventually degrade over a number of days. Also you have to either continually cut the end of the needle off or replace the needle between use/sessions. I really struggle with CA and I wonder if this might be a boon. Do any of you have any experience with this? I was thinking it might be useful to for instance use gator grip to place railing pe and then use a syringe to spot glue with ca for additional strength.

Hi John,
an interesting theory that I haven't tried out but I can see some problems inward bound. If you want to apply superglue try breaking the eye of a sewing needle in half, sticking the needle with broken eye in an old paintbrush handle and use the broken eye to apply small drops of glue where you want it. You can clean the needle with a lighter, the superglue burns a way and a quick wipe with a tissue leaves you with a squeaky clean needle.
As to beefing up joins I do it just the other way round: Spot "weld" the piece with superglue and then beef it up with gator glue.
Just my two cents though, I am most certainly not a PE- expert.
Cheers,
Julian

Dank je wel Julian. I will try your method with the needle and the ca first.
Cheers shipmate!

I use an inexpensive darning needle (just an extra large sewing needle) and clip off the pointy end at an angle so that I have flat angular tip. It holds a bit more glue this way than just cutting the tip straight across. Using Julian's method and clipping the eye of the same needle will give two applicators on one tool... I better rush out and patent this!

When I read this I thought it was a new fad to shoot up CA. Definitely not a good idea!

Probably about the same danger level as me buying that new 1/200 Hornet. How to sneak that crate past the missus?..?

Someone suggested to me that I should smuggle the 1/200 Bismarck into the house by stuffing the box down my trouser leg
That would have been worth a photo...............
