Hello All Would like to test the idea of doing a year long Battleship build, roughly thinking any scale any country as long as it was built and called a battleship timeline would be Spanish American war thru today I myself am planning on doing a 1/350 scale of the USS Alabama with all the goodies to go with it. due to the high volume of builds across the entire kitmaker site I was thinking of a start time sometime late summer of 2014 or early fall of 2014. so with that said any ideas or comments please let me know. thanks

 Sascha(Ironowl)

as an after note I also have the 1/350 scale IJN Musashi but I still plan on doing the Alabama.

Will you allow never-were's or cancelled designs? How about scrapped-on-the-stocks vessels?

I do not believe we have had a battleship campaign here yet.
Sounds like it could be a good time.

I wasn't sure if one had been done before I am going to do the USS Alabama 1/350 scale I may or may not use a ton of photo etch. I live in Alabama and am in the process of planning a working visit to the Ship down in mobile

What is the required number to have a campaign/build?

Hello Sascha,
This sounds like a great proposal. I usually do KM uboats but
I may join in with a KM battleship.
We need 10 enlisted members for a campaign approval.
Hope it happens.
Cheers,
Joe

Well if we could get 10 people to sign up that would be awesome the more the merrier. so in a nut shell the build time frame is 12 months may 2014 to may 2015 time period would be from Spanish American war to the end of the Korean War all scales welcome started builds allowed if not to far along(ie almost completed) any country that had a Battleship is fair game Cancelled and scrapped designs are permitted scratch building will be up to each individual as well as Photo Etch usage and Dioramas that's it in a nut shell so any comments or suggestions please feel free to let me know thanks.

 Cheers

build time frame is not set in stone just used those dates on the rough draft.

I am in, will be 1/350th, not sure of the build yet, probably be RN Either Duke of York or Warspite, or maybe something else, plenty of time to think about it.

Howdy Y'all

I'd like to join. I don't have many battleships in the stash but then again, I only one. The time line sounds perfect.
Thanks,

still not completely done with guidelines but we have time
So those that are interested so far any ideas on what scale and kit you plan on doing. I have three choices the one I plan on doing as of right now is the 1/350 scale USS Alabama the other two kits I have are the 1/350 scale IJN Musashi and the German 1/350 Scale Bismark I had a RN Battleship Hood but a friend bought it off of me I am also looking at the USS Arizona as I have been to see her at Pearl Harbor but that would have to be with the blessings and approval of the minister of finance .

 Cheers All

A 1/700, have a bunch in the stash but haven't decided yet...maybe an Amagi or '27 Nagato. (Oh, yeah-are we including battlecruisers? After all, alot of them were used like BB's...)
I'm considering a conversion- a Tamiya PoW/KGV to a 1939 Lion class. Haven't worked out all the details.
