I was browsing the forum at Model Warships and saw in a posting about new kit news from the 2013 IPMS Nationals that a 1/200 USS Enterprise CV-6 from Trumpeter was in the works
Anyone know about this? If it is true, I must get this!

It is mentioned around the 8th posting by FreeTimeHobbies

But, what was also mentioned Trumpeter helped out a great deal on the Hornet. There is plenty of talk the hull is wrong, so keep that in mind.
However with that being said, I think it is great news. I wonder when they will make a 1/200 DD or cruiser.

I wouldn't mind seeing a 1/200 USS Samuel B. Roberts

So it sounds like they just scaled up the 1/200 from the original 1/350. Oh well it will still be a very cool kit to have. I hope they do a 1/350 Enterprise as it is a more reasonable size and price.

It's not a strict scale up. They did change the forward hull shape a bit after a big stink was raised and a distributor threatened to cancel their entire order.
