Guy, it was the British that termed them Pocket Battleships the Germans called them Armoured Cruisers or Panzerschiffe. The idea was to get the most firepower possible on a Cruiser sized hull to beat the Versailles Treaty.

As the date of the campaign start is nearing, I've just been notified my wooden deck for BB Roma has shipped after a lengthy 4 month back order! The timing couldn't be better. Looking forward to starting my first campaign build on this site.
Now I just have to figure out what colour green the hull anti-fouling was for Italian vessels.

Hi Joseph,
I have used lifecolor's Italian Anti fouling green, which looks pretty good to me.
Just need to press on with Dreadnought over the Easter break to make some room on the bench for Duke of York.
Been looking forward to the start of this campaign for a long time.

Thanks Simon,
I've never run across Lifecolor paints here. I'll try and find an equivalent. If that doesn't work I'll see if I can get it from somewhere that still ships paint overseas.

No Problem Keith,
Biggest tip, look at the etch as a lot of small projects, not two large overwhelming sheets, and on a job like that I go through both instruction sheets together & annotate both of them as a cross reference, then I don't forget anything, or get bogged down.
Have fun with it mate.

Dreadnought is done, just worked out that took me 7-1/2 months & D.O.Y. is a more complex beast, mind no cage aerials & bo Torpedo nets.
Looking forward to keel laying day.

Hi,
I'd like to enter my 1/350 revell Bismarck with Big Ed etch, Artwox wooden deck and Master Model replacement barrels. Last weekend I glued the hull and deck on, but that is all that's been done. Had I noticed this thread last week I'd have taken photos before gluing!!! If you're happy for me to join the campaign then I'll take some pics on my phone this weekend.
Cheers

I'll (ahem) attempt to finish Tamiya's 1/350 HMS Prince of Wales as HMS King George V as of May '41. WEM photo etch and Master Models barrels with a Shinsengumi wooden deck...
