Hi all,
Today I visited the USS New Jersey in Camden, NJ and the USS Olympia in Philadelphia, PA. I took about 140 photos of the Olympia, inside and out as I am working on one and in case anyone else is and needs some references.
Interestingly enough, the windlasses were painted a dark green. I asked someone who was working to restore the ship and he said to his knowledge (and he was indeed very knowledgeable about the ship) that they were originally painted green.
Let me know if you need any pictures!
Happy modeling,
Andrew

Love that old boat. Just got the Encore kit (non Premium)this past weekend.

Andrew, are you posting your 1/232 kit work progress anywhere?
