Chris shares his IJN Yamato which he envisioned crashing through waves. We think it looks great.

Chris,

Your Yamato is excellent, a real work of fine craftsmanship... but your ocean is absolutely STUNNING!

Tell us how you accomplished it - spare no detail! Inquiring ship model geeks want to know!

I thought the close-up of the initial picture was the real thing! Fantastic job and excellent work on the ocean waves, especially the water lapping across the deck.

Chris, just superb. I could not see all the tiny parts let alone get them where they need to be. The figures add personality and size scope to it. Will have to read your water artical also. Really excellent work!!!

yes I did. Hey we have about 16 of us that meet once a month at the China Rose restaurant. We are not a club but just a bunch of serious modellers that like to hob-nob together and enjoy Great chinese food. We bring something to show and put it on the table. Please come out and join us. This coming Tuesday Dec3 at 6:30. China Rose restaurant. in the VIP room. Bob

A truly magnificent build Chris, sorry for the late reaction but I missed this when first posted. The wet deck is almost as impressive as the bow wave and spray.

Now THAT'S water! The overall wet look topside, the seawater sloshing on the forecastle, and the wonderful green tint to the sea really make this diorama come alive.

Thanks you guys. I always find ship models so Matte and dry looking. It's a catch 22...you start adding gloss...you start seeing flaws! I'm doing a KGV in a storm and I'm going to 'attempt' to have all the top surfaces of things wet and reflective. gulp.

Sorry i'm late, but I do need to climb on this bandwagon with both feet. Wonderful in every way. Ditto to all the comments above.

It was great meeting you Chris, joining our group and seeing your Yukakaze. Equally impressive. Looking forward to our next meeting and I will bring my USS Langley. You can have a sneak-a-peek at the Iron Shipwright site. Bob
