Hi everyone.

Another question: I notice a cable that extends from the bow plane to the hull on many builds. How do I replicate this?

On a different subject: I watched the five-hour uncut version of "Das Boot" yesterday: just an incredible film.

Thank you everyone. Have an awesome day.

Is that a cable or reinforcing strut ?

That's a great question. I don't know enough about U-Boat design to say what it is. I just know I have seen a lot of photos and there is definitely a bar supporting the bow plane and attached to the hull.

Thanks.

If you mean the part that's right in front of and looks like part of the diving plane, but is not actually attached to it, I just checked some reference and it's definitely not a cable, and probably not a reinforcing strut. Looks more like a deflector or a protector (like a fender) for the diving plane.

Is this a Revell 1/72 Uboat? Doesn't the kit already have this part? Can you post a pic to show what you mean?

It's the Revell kit. There are the parts and it looks nice as is yet, this is that extra bit of detail. I can never seem to figure out how to place photos on this site

Alex,
That cable is an anti-fouling cable for the forward dive planes.

Look for braided jewelery making wire, this is thin enough
to represent this part very well.

Cheers,
Joe

Thanks Joe for the clarification. Do you have a brand you use? Thanks. Alex

Cool Joe. I will head to Wal-Mart soon and see if they have it in stock. Thank you for your help. Alex
