I recently decided to frame some Kriegsmarine badges that were acquired over the last few years.

When these items were laid over the red felt, something was missing, the display did not have the
impact I expected.

Then, I got the idea of incorporating a u boat model in the display.

The kit used is the Revell 1:350 scale type VIIC and since I wanted it to lay flat on the felt,
well, I only needed half a u boat.

Since the hull and tower are already in halves, I only needed to cut the deck in half. Assembly
was quite simply, my biggest efforts went put towards painting and weathering.

And this is the result. I am very satisfied with the display and it will hang in my hobby room in
a black frame.

Hope you enjoy,

Cheers,
Joe

A second display is in the making with the other half of the kit.

The u boat will be surrounded by a series of u boat emblems that I
have acquired.....lapel pins.

Thanks for your comment,

Cheers.

Ahoy Joe

A superb & innovative idea!

I echo Daniels sentiments.

Well done bud.

How about a S-boote one as well? Hint hint
