Excellent review of this monster! Your preliminary findings are spot on and judging from a quick slip of the box and sniffing of the plastic will prove to be a fun filled ride with the build!! Other than planting one on her brother...Leia was correct..."It's not over yet!!"! Hoping to dig into this one real soon!!

iI HAVE NOT POSTED HER FOR MANY MONTHS.
WE ARE CURRENTLY WORKING ON CV 14 AND CV 19 AND CORRECTING MISTAKES AND OMISSIONS ON INTREPID KIT, NOTABLY THE HUGE OMISSION OF THE CUBED WIRE CAGES FOR THE DECK EDGE RAFT BASKETS PORT AND STARBOARD.
FUNNY NO ONE CAUGHT CAN EARLIER IN REVIEWS. 14 AND 19 WILL HAVE THE SPS 43 BEDSPRING RADARS THAT INTREPID NEVER CARRIED.
EXPECT THE AFTER MARKET FOLKS TO PRODUCE DECK YELLOW GEAR AND TIILY. NO WORD AS TO AN AIRCRAFT UPGRADES SETS....BUT THAT WIILL HAPPEN,
NO DATES AS TO RELEASE OF CV 14 CV 19. MAYBE 2015. WILL HAVE TO MILK AS MUCH AS WE CAN FROM THESE HULLS. RDB

I served aboard USS Wasp CVS-18, Intrepid was also designated as a CVS (Antisubmarine Warfare Aircraft Carrier) We were both homported in Boston,Ma. at the South annex. Her designation was not changed just because she served in VietNam. The only difference was in her capability to only handle certain aircraft. What appears to be missing from the kit deck load are A-1 Skyraiders which all the Essex class supported. Those may have arrived after inchop Viet Nam.
Lake Champlian was homeported at Qounset Point RI at that time. All were eventually stripped and scrapped in the mid to late 1970's
