hey all,
have a quick question for our submarine experts. What is that piece of equipment on the USS Dace.

Is that a snorkel or is it a secondary periscope. I have not been able to find any line drawing that indicate what it is. I have looked on NAVSource and no luck.

That is the extendible radar SD antenna mast.

Another question, is the peice of equipment directly aft of the SD Antenna Mast an MK51 40mm Gun Director?
