As I was watching a bit of "Tora, Tora, Tora" for the umpteenth time, the scene with Ambassador Joseph Grew, US ambassador to Japan at the time war broke out, I wondered what happened with him and the other embassy staffers in the US Embassy in Tokyo in the immediate aftermath of Pearl Harbor.
A google search of his name lead me to this article I found on the "Association for Diplomatic Studies and Training". It is a memoir written by Grew's private secretary, Robert A. Fearey.
It's a part of 'war life' we seldom hear about.
