And a Happy New Year to you, Joe!

And it's an EARLY corvette at that!! A short fo'csle version would be great in that scale (though a 1/72 would be even better).

That is the same U-boat variant that Daniel Moscatelli built! I loved his and this would be a lot less work. They must have seen how nice his looked and decided to make one.

I am almost sure that his build did influence their descision.

I would have preferred a "B" to model Hardegen's U-123...
after all his boat is of great historical significance, it
was the lead boat in Operation DRUMBEAT.

But a IXC/40 is most welcome! Now if they can also shrink
these Type IX's to 1:144....that would be bliss!

So far looking to be a great year!

Cheers,
Joe

Wish it was an early Type IXC, so I could do U-166. Will probably add this one to the stash though. Would also like to see the Type VIIC/41 released again, since I missed it the first time around.

You can backdate the U505 to U166.

I believe adding a 10.5cm and swapping the tower armament will suffice.

I will check may references.

Not sure if my scratch-building skills would be up to the task! Looks like she had the smaller conning tower, 105 up front, and the 37mm on the rear deck.

I know that it is only "cargo" but I was really hoping for some 1/144 U.S. armor and softskins to go with those included with Revell's new Landing Ship Medium kit...

Would like to see additional 1/144 vehicles (and figures!) for my LSM to haul, such as:

- M4A3 tank
- HST & artillery
- Marine trucks (I.H. M2-4)
- Willys Jeep
- DUKW
- M29 Weasel
- M2 or M3 halftrack
- Any LVTs
- LCM3 or LCVP (extra craft for a dio)
- Navy crew, Marines, Army figures

Fingers crossed for any of the above and of course, for some additional craft --- maybe an LST??? --- in that scale.

With Regards and Aloha,

Johnny B.

Cool a 1/144 Flower class, I'll take one. Never looked at the big 1/72 as for me that was too big, a 1/144 one on the other hand.

And there's enough U-boat "buddies" in that scale for companion displays.

Wonderful news! An early, though long-forecastle, Flower will be handy in escorting that Meng SS Taiping steamer around those nasty U-boats...

Well it seems that 1/144 is being rediscovered as a great scale for models of smaler ships. I dont mind getting a few of the escorts, auxiliaries, monitors and landing crafts in this scale. I like these smaller ships and in 1/350 most of them are too small to have a nice representation of them in the collection. Revell maybe found a hole in the market here.

There are two Japanese companies that produce a lot in 1/144. They are Fairy Kikaku an Matuo Kasten. Unfortunately 99% of what they produce are Axis Power vehicles or contemporary ones like Abram tanks and HUMVEES but maybe they'll expand their product line. Fairy Kikaku, for example, is coming out with a British Expeditionary Force (1940) set that includes Valentine and Whippet tanks. Maybe with the LSM from Revel they'll be inclined to do more.
