I am looking for a source of a kit representing the USS Cook,DE-710, which was a "Rudderow"- class DE from 1944. It was converted to APD-130 with the same name. It served until decommissioning/scrapping in 1969. My brother was stationed on the Cook in the late 60's, serving in the PI and Vietnam.

Does someone make a kit I could use to replicate this ship in scale?

Thanks

I wouldn’t trust the quality of the kit, but Lindberg at one time produced a Rudderow-class destroyer kit (USS DeLong and USS Daniel A. Joy) in 1:300 scale. Most (if not all) Lindberg kits suck and you have to put a LOT of work into them to make them half-way decent.

The good new: Skywave/Pit-road makes a 1:700 scale Rudderow that goes for about $25 (US). Here’s a helpful kit review:

Just do a Goggle search for and you’ll get a few hits for distributors of the kit.

Good Luck!

Sorry, that was supposed to say "a Google search for RUDDEROW DESTROYER MODEL".
