This reminds me of my early childhood and sat with my grandfather building models with no paint, and occasionally tackling one of the Airfix sailing ships. Very nicely done Tim.

Just found this one on the forums Tim-a very nice little build.

Looking forward to watching the Pinta and Santa Maria come together to complete the trio

very happy to see that my little hinting earlier becomes true I am looking forward to another fine build here (still hoping you will do number three as well), it is just great to see how you turn this simple kits into little jewels!

Tim,
You've inspired me to retrieve an old Airfix Mayflower from my dust collection. While my skills are nowhere near your I'm hoping to have some fun with her. Please share with us your builds of the Pinta and Santa Maria. You're not only a master builder but a great teacher as well. Any thoughts on rat lines? I don't know if my old eyes are up to tying individual lines. Are there any other options? My Mayflower kit does not include any rigging.
Thanks
John

Thank you all for your generous comments, but I really only built Niña out of the box; the only additions were paint and thread!

John, As I get ready to start the Pinta I've been thinking about that too. I just built Niña with straight vertical shrouds, but Pinta will need actual ratlines on the shrouds. I've never done ratlines before, but I'll figure it out!

clove hitch, clove hitch, clove hitch, clove hitch, clove hitch, clove hitch, clove hitch, clove hitch, clove hitch, clove hitch, clove hitch, clove hitch,..........

I made some before in 64th scaling and at first it was touch-n-go but things went quickly. In this scale I would probably tape things down on some wax paper fanning out to the shape you want and then lay the individual lines over and set with PVA or CA and forget the knots.

There are a few decent videos on the process! Have fun!
