Does anyone else have trouble glueing Eduard's PE with CA? Is it because their PE is made from aluminum?

Biggles,

I had trouble with CA so I went to using Gator Grip for all my PE. I only use CA in certain circumstances like adding the degaussing cable to the hull of a ship.

I don't think Eduard uses aluminum...I pretty sure its nickel plated brass.

You're right! I took a file to the Eduard fret and eventually brass showed through. Either way, it's not CA friendly!

I did not experience any problems with Eduard PE and CA glue, I am using just any brand of liquid CA glue from the supermarket.

But - David mentioning the Gator's Grip Glue, read quite a lot about it and would be very keen on trying - does anybody know a source for continental Europe? I found some bottles on ebay - five euro something plus 30+ euros shipping

Thanks,
Jan

Gator Glue is certainly a viable choice to attaching PE. I use it myself from time to time. Dries clear and strong! I am unaware of any distributorship across the pond. The Gator Studios is located in the US. You can contact Kenny direct. He calculates the shipping for each order individually.

Link to the site - http://www.gatorsmask.com/gatorglueorder1.html

Email to contact Kenny - [email protected]

I would have to assume the shipping costs might be high unfortunately...judging from the last few shipments I made myself! Worth the email to ask though! Kenny is a great guy and offers a solid product!

Related...standard PVA (white school glue) can be used as well. The working time is much greater than CA, cleans up with water and dries hard as nails. Just another option!
