Norman

A battleship row dio would be awesome. Something to consider might be developing the base like puzzle pieces. Managable for storing but able to be put together to show the entire scene. Like you said. Each ship is its own dio

LOL...Mini-dios might be the way to go! And while you await the plastic offering to the world, there are several others you can get started on!!

Well i know trumpeter makes the Wee Vee, Maryland, plenty of options for the Arizona. The hard ones to come by would be the California, Oklahoma, and Tennessee. Also would have to scratch build the docks/slips and maybe throw in a cruiser or two.

Very small update, found some time between family and military obligations to work on the hull. So here it is enjoy.

The first coat of hull red (my own mix of Tamiya flat red and hull red). I always have a problem with the Tamiya paints wanting to dry too quick then lift into clumps as I brush paint. I add thinner, light coats, etc. so any tips in brush painting with Tamiya acrylics would be extremely appreciated. I have an airbrush but no adequate ventilation so stuck using the hairy stick. Also don't mind the messy work area. My space is very limited given my living situation.

Norman, I have had some success brush-painting Tamiya acrylics after diluting them with about 20% distilled water. They seem to go on a lot easier and smoother, no clumping.

Cheers, D

Norman,

I also use Vallejo Acrylic Retarder. It prevents the paint from drying quickly. A small drop mixed in with the paint works and it does not seem to affect the final result.

Your Knox is looking great. So what do you do in the military?

Norman,

My brother does the same thing for the state of KY. I have the Academy UH-60 in my stash. i started it a few years ago and never finnished. Might pull it out, brush it off, and finish it for the unfinnish campaign on armorama. never know.

Good luck with the paint.
