Built in Italy during the mid 30's for the Polish Ocean Lines and named after Stefan Batory, the famous sixteenth-Century king of Poland, the luxury liner Batory was pressed into wartime service during the Second World War as an attack-transport. She subsequently became the pride of the Polish Ocean Lines merchant fleet and the entire Polish navy.

In 1/500 scale, her length should be just over 12.5 inches (31.75 centimeters).
