Trumpeter HMS Abercombie has landed at Hannants, £49.99, haven't seen any sprue shots, but at least from the box art the different barbette and 4" locations look correctly different from the Roberts.

Just fount this on trumpy website, correct if I am wrong, but the Roberts had an Octagonal Barbette, and the Abercombie a round one.

I have just checked my Abercrombie in the stash and that has an octagonal barbette, which matched John Roberts drawings
I hope I am wrong, but I am sure one had a circular barbette and one a circular one.

Sorry Si, but you're leaving me a little confused...
I f may translate that into - Roberts: Octagonal; Abercrombie: Round - than, Ian Buxton's Big Gun Monitors and some pictures of the originals you would be correct
Cheers,
Jan

Hi Jan,
Yes, that is what I am saying.
HMS Roberts, this shows the octagonal Barbette.
http://www.navyphotos.co.uk/Battleships%20Cruisers%20Monitors/images/rbrts4b.jpg
And HMS Abercrombie, circular barbette.

If that is the only error in the kit, then it is not a disaster because it can be fixed relatively simply. I am still likely going to get one, as the different schemes and differences in construction would make them an interesting pair.
