Is Trumperter making the earlier version of this kit 1904 or is there any aftermarket upgrades planned.

Trumpeter announced the early version and some online stores have it on pre order, don't know when it's due though.

Isn't it typical of kit manufacturers these days? They know darn well the 1904 Russian/Japanese war rig is going to be the most popular so they come out with another version hoping they can sell as many of those as they can before coming out with what people really want. The same with the new battleship USS New York. I'm sure the vast majority of people want the USS Texas, but they might snap up the New York before the Texas is released. I'm sure they'll do the same with the Nelson coming out before the Rodney.

Oh well I've got enough kits in the stash to keep me occupied until they come out with what I really want. Long as they make enough on these other kits to keep coming out with the good stuff I'm not going to complain. Too much.
