A bit more etch construction,

The 965 radar array.







Not perfect, a few tweeks needed, but it will look ok under a coat of paint.

Now I have all these lovely fragile structures lying around, time to get some paint on them. Sprayed with good old Tamiya XF1. (had 1/2 a cup full in the airbrush, shame to waste it.



The foremast fitted, with the diesel exhaust inside it.



Mainmast & 965 fitted.

I am pleased with look of both masts now they have paint on. The lattice mast especially, still a couple of sub assemblies to go on that, but I felt safer with that fragile assembly glued down.

Amazing work, all the well applied brass on the masts and the careful paint job making this frigate to a stunning sight.

A good example, why super detailed naval builds are so exciting.

Very small update.

Platform for the fire control radar built. (Railings at the front need sorting).



Main gun turrets painted and fitted.



I have temporarily removed the 965 radar before I knocked it off and will refit later.

A bit more progress.

The vents and a few other bits and pieces added around the superstructure, also the foremast has been moved to it's correct position. (misread the instructions)



The fire control radar fitted in it's correct location.



A few more brass sub assemblies ready for spraying.

Bit of a schoolboy error not reading the instructions properly, just glad I got away with it.

Small update.

The sub assemblies from above sprayed.



Along with a basecoat on the fret.



The first railings and ladders going on.

Quick update.

In a weekend of mad modelling only made small progress on this build.

Got the Squid assembled and painted along the bofors, both fitted, along with some railings round the quarterdeck.



More soon.

I haven't forgotten this build, it has been on the a bit on the back burner.

Did get the anchor cables on this afternoon.



Should get on and finish this one.
