Afternoon all

I've recently purchased one of these old kits through eBay and hope to use it in a diorama with a 1:700 Nimitz (they are close enough in scale aren't they?) - and I was wondering, has anyone ever built one?

And if so, do you have any tips?

Thanks

James

Hey James,

The difference in scale, especially 720 to 700, is more or less negligible 1/32 to 1/35 is hardly noticeable if you ask me. In terms of measurements - 30cm in 1/700 scales to .041cm and 1/720 to .042.

As for the kit, I can't help you much there as I have not built that one! Looking forward to seeing some of the build though!!

Thanks Todd

I am thinking of some sort of diorama with the Forrestal, Nimitz, a.n. other carrier and maybe a smaller destroyer to show the size difference.

There is a massive price point difference between 1:700 and 1:720 kits in the UK - so if I can get away with the 720s - then great!

Cheers,

James

Sounds like you have a great plan there! You should be good even with regards to PE in 1/700 on the 1/720 stuff. You should not see the difference.
