We had an Osprey Duel campaign and few years ago and people seemed to like it. At the end there were some calls for Duel II. Is it time?

I foresee a year long campaign requiring two models depicting contestants as presented in one of the Osprey Duel books. This one would be open to Armor and Aircraft modelers as well (I'll be posting this in those forums also).

Whaddaya all think?

Hmmm, I just got a 1/72 Sherman kit. Osprey does a Sheman vs Panzer IV....

For naval, I've been toying with the idea of a u-boat against and allied vessel.

Bump!

We jumped off to a fast start on this one with about 7 people interested across the various sites. Anyone else up for Duel II?

For the boatniks, there's cruisers, destroyers, aircraft carriers, motor patrol boats, battleships and iron-clads eligible for this build.

USN Destroyer vs. IJN Destroyer...

USN Carrier vs. IJN Carrier...

Actually, I need to stop buying kits (and get rid of a few I have) so to use what's already in my stash:

VS

So I'd be a definite 'In'.

Bump for those that might be interested.

The Osprey books have several naval subject regarding duels and it's worth to consider this can be done in teams. One person does on subject while the other does the other combatant. Such as for IJN Destroyers vs US Destroyers, one person do the Japanese ship while the other does the US ship.

Here's a link to the Duel series.

Thanks Michael!

I also included in the original rules that one model could be up to 50% built. Do you think I should make it that one model can be finished as long as the other is unstarted? The wording would be something like:

The models can be up to 50% finished in the aggregate. For instance, each model can be up to 50% started or one model can be finished as long as the second model is unstarted, or any combination thereof.

Think that'll attract more enlistees?

Bump

Only a couple more enlistees needed for this one. If we get enough people, I'd kind of like to start it on Jan. 1st and run it for a full year. I freely admit I have selfish reasons for this, which I will explain more fully if it works but which I think you will enjoy.

Let us know if you're interested!
