Hey, newbie to ships and boats, and I just got a 1:72 Schnell boot and I was wondering if anybody had any good info on it. It is a Revell model, S-Boat, "S-100". Thanks for your time.

The RG S-100 is a fine model. Here is a great reference site with a whole section on Schnell boots! http://www.prinzeugen.com/

Check on your local hobby shop's book rack for Squadron Signal Publications Warships #18, "Schnellboot in action." There are also photoetch detail sets for the kit if you want to soup it up; the only thing I haven't found yet is a pack of German sailors in correct rig to populate the thing with.

Pretty cool site there Scunge. I haven't read it all but it looks very interesting. When I was growing up in Southern California there was a guy who had a US PT Boat as a yacht. Now THAT would be a fun toy. I think they removed two of the three engines so it wouldn't be as much fun, but a LOT less expensive to operate.

When I grow up I want to be rich. Does anybody know any rich people who would like to adopt me and keep me in a manner to which I'd like to become accustomed?

Ok guys, just found another Schnellboot site for ya! It might help to brush up on your German lingo before you go there though. But plenty of good pic's and references!

One item that I do remember from going over the instruction sheet---it says to cut off several moulded on ventilator fittings amidships. I think that these might be for superchargers which were fitted to the MB511 engines of S-139 onward.
