This is Trumpeter's Type XXIII in 1/144 scale. Mostly OOB except for a couple of instrument bezels and decals in the conning tower:

Biggles,

Very nice job on your Type XXIII. I like the weathering and the OOB looks great.

What is your opinion of the 1/144 scale? I haven't tried it out yet but I am interested, just wanted to get some thoughts

For some subjects 1/144 is a good scale. I've got Revell's Fletcher in the stash, and that's about as big as I'll go. Also, the bigger the scale, the more expensive the AM. I'm doing a couple of ICM/Revell Type II U-Boats and they build easily and look good, but have some accuracy issues. Next, I'll tackle a Type VII, or two. I'm also eagerly awaiting Revell's 1/144 Snowberry - it's a much more manageable size than the 1/72 release.
