Having recently cut the chain off my 1/700 Cleveland I find that I am now in need of one. I don't know what size chain would be best or the best set for the lowest price. Also, when I do get a chain, what's the best method of attaching it? I think I know how to proceed with it going into the hawsepipes but attaching to the capstans or whatever they are has me a bit... Confused I guess... Should I drill a hole into them and then feed a small amount of the chain into it? Or drill a hole and wrap the chain around? And finally... Best way to repair the lip around the hawsepipes? Kinda damaged mine when drilling them out and removing the chain...
Thanks.

Look at Trumpeter 06624 chain set....2 types very fine and
4 strands each and about 5 inches long per strand.
Also look in the modelrailroad section of your LHS...usually
lots of chain in various sizes and usable for ships.
Try using fine putty...water based preferably, for the repair.
