The port and starboard hull halves do simplify construction, but that approach unfortunately leaves a nasty seam right down the middle of the deck!

Sorry for the very late reply, Tim.

You get a full length deck in this kit. Look on the sprue between the hull halves. Yes, it's not very wide, but it's enough to do the job
