Thanks, Todd. Yeah, he is. But, may I ask? What is Tamiya thin?

Just got this kit in the mail. My biggest complaint with it is the complete lack of any detail inside the pilothouse. I managed to scare up some drawings of the interior from a build on a Russian site. I'll be using them to add some detail to that yawning void when I get around to building it.

That sounds cool, Al. Good luck with your project. How much of the interior can one see?
Tony Chin sent me the kit as a total surprise to me. The hull shape of the G-5 reminds me of my first speedboat that I bought in 1984. That was a boat built in 1964 and had an old Chrysler 35hp outboard engine (and lost its compression) and in 1985, when an old guy in a rowboat on Cape Cod outran me, at full throttle, I bought a brand new boat with a 35hp Force outboard ... I still own that boat and she's just as fast as she was on day one! HA!

You sure the guy in the rowboat wasn't Popeye?
There are windows around the front, and three openings in the top of the pilothouse that you can see through. So I want to have something in there. A deck, some controls, a wheel, and some other odds and ends to fill up the space.
This one of the drawings that I found.
References and images are hard to come buy. So, I'll try to be as accurate as I can, but I may have to take a little artistic license. I feel that anything looks better than nothing.

Kyle sent me a quick update just now. He is close to the point where he’ll paint the model. Here are two photos.

Kyle just sent me an update … and, here it is: “Major milestone last night, the mounting blocks were drilled and tapped then the hull was glued on. I'm going to work on making a sacrificial stand to hold it for painting then I'll be hopping back to the Saucy.” Here are two photos:
