Is there any connection between Pit Road and Trumpeter? Some parts of that model look typically Trumpeter-ish, especially that base.

Yup, same dog, same number of spots.

Chinese companies don't go down well in Japan, so Pit Road (Japanese) collaborate and rebrand to get Trumpeter into the Japanese mktplace.
