missed out on your substantial update, ups - spending too much time with real-life stuff these days. That has to change...
Great progress and fast for that very special kit!! This is really looking awesome so far!!
As for the railings, as Marcus said, there are no instructions!! I have not build the kit yet, but sure enough have it in the stash along with the Dragon railings and on getting it of course did a thorough inspection of what I got. It is mentioned somewhere that it was assumed sufficient to provide the generic drawing on the back of the railing set to help you along...that was when I had my first doubt on the usability of those Dragon railings and went for the WEM set as well...

First, some great progress, I like how you use the multi compartment plastic boxes to keep everything organized. Im stealing the idea.
Im sure that you can compare the WEM and Dragon PE, find the duplicates and work out what goes where through elimination. Will take some good organization no doubt though.

Painted the upper hull.
Painted the boats.

Yes Jan, real life is very over-rated, or I like to think of it as non-modelling life.. something you have to do to allow you to have a modelling life.

very nice work, excellent paint finish.
I have to disagree with your remarks about not recommending the ship. I built this kit and found it a challenging kit but enjoyable. It is very well designed and when finished is in my opinion one of the best looking kits on the market.

Amazing build speed considering the amount of hard yakka required (somehow I don't think this kit will find its way into my stash
)

The Scharnhorst is a great subject in 1/350.
It's just a shame that Dragon were the ones who did it.
I'd have much preferred a more simplified build,
This one has a part-count higher than that of a breathalyzed alcoholic.
Oh, and beware the mistake-laden instructions - Watch out for those bloopers!
I'm going to print out multiple scanned copies and annotate them to death - just in case!
