Hey Guys!
I just finished my trumpeter hood so I decided to start this build right away.
Pics of the hood will come soon but for now here is the start of the Bismarck.

For upgrades I got a PE set with barrels off ebay from a Chinese company for $30 along with a deck from a different Chinese company.

Update 1

I started superstructure work with the funnel. There was a moderate amount of PE to put on for things such as the grate and the cranes. When putting on the PE, I found that none of it was fitting around the kit parts, which probably means the set is meant for the revell kit.















Next time I will have some more superstructure detail done.

Yesterday I worked primarily on the hangar/ signal platform and mainmast












Chugging along nicely... only the afterdeck and armament to build before painting. Still waiting on the lifecolor set to arrive

I particularly like your comparison to the HMS Hood, as well - the Trumpf kit, I assume? I am doing the Trumpf one right now, only on a really slow pace...

I've been following your build hood since the beginning and your work is amazing
Mine is the trumpeter kit also, but yours puts mine to shame:p

I hope to finish her up before the Bismarck hits the paint booth.

on a side note, I have just finished building a base for the Bissy which i'll post pics of asap

Well here's an update finally...

First here is the base I constructed for her which still needs a wood varnish...


I also did some work on the bare sides of the first deck...





It may not be 100% accurate, but it looks better than it did

Good detailing on the shelter deck

Very nice work indeed on the on the superstructure bulkheads. That will really add depth to the end result, Under a coat of paint and a wash it will look right.

Sorry there was no progress recently... I was on a trip and when I got back I got stuck in on the bismarck and forgot to take step by step pics of the hull painting
First I had to deal with the lack of vents/intakes on the hull. I cut the shapes out of a fine mesh and then glued them on the hull. I then masked them and puttied them over to make them not pop out.
Then I painted the hull using the lifecolor kreigsmarine set






Next up is the deck

Very nice paint job on the hull. She is really shaping up.

So I got the deck on now with some of the superstructure painted and decked out. I also painted the air recognition marks on the deck...

Looks like a real nice install you did with that decking. Any issues with not staying down? I would have one or two spots come up within a day or two.

The deck seems to be stuck down pretty well... the self sticking side was pretty sticky so I hope things will stay down
